Car repair estimate template for garages

A one page estimate or quote: the vehicle, the fault, labour, parts, the total and how long the price stands. The customer signs to accept before you start.

The template is a starting point, not legal or tax advice. Rules differ between countries and change over time, so have it checked by a lawyer or accountant before you use it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an estimate and an invoice?

The estimate shows what you expect the job to cost, before you do it. The invoice comes afterwards, for the work actually done, under your country's tax rules.

How long is an estimate valid?

As long as you write on it. Parts prices change often, so many garages use 7 or 14 days.

Do I need to show VAT?

It depends on your country and your business. The field is optional; ask your accountant.
